GCE, Baccalauréat and Probatoire Translation in Cameroon
Cameroon runs two school systems, and sooner or later a certificate from one has to be read by people from the other. Whether you need a GCE certificate translation into French or your Bac and Probatoire put into English, send photos of the certificate and result slips on WhatsApp. You get a fixed quote first, then the sworn translation in 48 hours.

GCE certificate translation: who asks for it, and which way
If you schooled in the English-speaking subsystem, you hold the GCE Ordinary Level and probably the Advanced Level. Your mates across the language line hold the BEPC, the Probatoire and the Baccalauréat. Nobody asks for a translation while you stay on your own side. The moment your file lands on a desk where the other language is read, they do.
A GCE goes into French for a public service entrance exam (concours), a grande école or a French-medium university, at home or abroad, or for an employer who works in French. The translation of Baccalauréat certificates from Cameroon runs the other way: English-medium universities, a WES evaluation, applications to the UK, Canada or Nigeria, scholarship files written in English.
Campus France is a case of its own. For applicants from an English-language curriculum, the official Campus France Cameroon website names the Ministry of Higher Education in Yaoundé or the Bonanjo language centre in Douala as the places to translate academic documents. Read our Campus France guide before you order anything from us for that file.

Where certificate and result slip translations go wrong
Exam titles. “Ordinary Level” and “Advanced Level” have no exact French twin, and “Probatoire” has none in English. We translate the title and keep the original name in brackets, so the reader recognises the exam at a glance.
Grades and mentions. GCE grades A to E stay A to E. Bac marks out of 20 and mentions such as “Passable” or “Assez bien” are rendered exactly as printed. We never turn them into percentages, points or the other system’s grades. That is the job of whoever assesses your file.
Series and subjects. Bac series A4, C, D or TI, Advanced Level subjects, technical subjects: each one is copied or translated in full, nothing merged, nothing shortened. A subject left off the translation is one more question at the counter.
Attestation or final certificate. A pass attestation is a provisional paper. Some bodies take it, others insist on the certificate. Ask first, because translating one and then the other means paying twice.
A name that differs from the passport. Exam names are typed at registration, sometimes with a slip or in another order. We copy the certificate as it stands and point out any gap with your passport. Any correction is a matter for the body that issued the certificate.
What to send us
- The GCE certificate, or the Bac, Probatoire or BEPC diploma, photographed flat and in full.
- Every result slip or transcript: one per sitting if you wrote the exam more than once.
- The pass attestation (attestation de réussite) if the final certificate has not been issued yet.
- The back of each paper whenever it carries a stamp, a signature or a number.
- Your passport photo page or national ID card, so we can compare the spelling of your names.
- Which way you need it and who will receive it: exam board, university, WES, employer.
Sat the O Level twice? Send both slips and tell us which ones the receiving body wants to see. We translate the ones you pick.

Price and turnaround
10,000 FCFA per page, fixed. The certificate counts as one page and so does each result slip. A Bac with its transcript is two pages, 20,000 FCFA. A file that brings together the Advanced and Ordinary Level, certificate and slip for each, is often four pages, and the quote lists every one.
Turnaround is 48 hours between French and English, from receipt of payment. If your application closes soon, 24-hour delivery is available for this language pair at 20,000 FCFA per page.
You pay the quoted total and nothing more: Orange Money, MTN Mobile Money or bank transfer.
Before you submit
The sealed PDF reaches you on WhatsApp or by email. For a paper copy, collect it by appointment in Yaoundé, Carrefour Tam-Tam, or have it sent by parcel to your town.
An exam body, a university or WES may also want a certified true copy, legalisation or documents sent straight from your school. Those are their rules. Check the current list with the body receiving your file.
For Campus France with an English-language curriculum, follow our Campus France guide, which sets out what the official site says about where to translate.
