Translate Cameroonian documents from abroad: who it is for
A birth certificate for a residence application, a marriage certificate for family reunification, a diploma for admission or recognition, a court judgment for a civil status matter: your papers stay Cameroonian even when your life is elsewhere. And the office in your new country wants to read them in its own language.
You do not need to fly home or send someone to queue for you. The sworn translator of the Centre Court of Appeal, in Yaoundé, works from a photo of your document. You follow everything on WhatsApp, from London to Houston.
Which way the translation goes depends on the country. A French document from Yaoundé or Douala usually goes into English for the UK, the US or English-speaking Canada. A certificate issued in English in Buea or Bamenda goes into French for France or Belgium. For Germany, a translation into German is a certified translation, never a sworn one, and takes 72 hours.
What trips up Cameroonians abroad
Time zones. Our WhatsApp line is open from 7 am to 10 pm Cameroon time. That may not be your local time: in Houston or Toronto you are several hours behind. A message sent late in your evening may wait for our morning.
The original is back home. A sharp photo is enough to translate. The original stays with you or with a relative in Cameroon, and you do not post anything to us.
The foreign office’s own rules. Every country and every office has its rules: who may translate, legalisation, format, how recent the document must be. Check the current list with the office receiving your file before you order.
German. For Germany, we provide a certified translation into German, never a sworn one, in 72 hours. If the German authority insists on a translator approved in Germany, ask it before you order.
Paper needed at the last minute. Express courier to another country takes several days. If the office insists on paper, build that time into your plans from the start.
What to send us from abroad
- A sharp photo of every page, edges visible. If the document is still in Cameroon, a relative can take the photo for you.
- Front and back, with stamps and marginal notes readable.
- The photo page of your passport, so we copy your names exactly.
- The language you have, the language you need, and the country you live in.
- The office that will receive the translation, and its requirements if it has put them in writing.
- How you plan to pay, and a delivery address if paper is required.

Price, turnaround and paying from abroad
The price is the same as for a client in Cameroon: 10,000 FCFA per page, fixed. Turnaround is 48 hours between French and English, 72 hours for German.
There are three ways to pay: an international bank transfer, a relative in Cameroon paying by Orange Money or MTN Mobile Money, or a money transfer through Western Union or a similar service. The quote tells you the exact amount that must reach us.
The total quoted on WhatsApp covers the translation. Sending paper abroad is extra.
Receiving your translation abroad
As soon as the translation is ready, the sealed and signed PDF reaches you on WhatsApp or by email. If the office accepts digital documents, you can pass it on the same day.
If the office insists on paper, it goes to the address you give us by express courier. The cost is yours and we tell you the amount before anything is sent, so nothing leaves without your go-ahead.
A relative in Cameroon can also collect the paper by appointment in Yaoundé, Carrefour Tam-Tam, or receive it by parcel in another town.
We do not submit your file and we do not advise on residence or visa applications. We translate your documents.
