Diploma translation Cameroon: which applications need it
Diplomas are translated for a WES evaluation, a university application in the UK, Canada or Europe, a Campus France file, a job abroad or a competitive exam that asks for your qualifications.
The direction depends on where the file goes. A Baccalauréat, a Licence or a Master’s from a French-language university usually goes into English for WES or the UK. A GCE Advanced Level certificate, or a degree from an English-language university such as Buea or Bamenda, goes into French for a French-speaking administration. We translate; we do not judge. Whether your qualification matches a foreign one, and how your marks convert, is decided by the body evaluating your file, never by us.
Where diploma files go wrong
Marks out of 20. A Cameroonian transcript marks out of 20. We keep marks and scale as written. We do not convert to GPA or percentages. If conversion happens, the evaluating body does it.
Titles with no exact equivalent. “Licence professionnelle”, “DUT”, “BTS”, “probatoire” do not exist everywhere. We translate the title faithfully and keep the original name in brackets where it helps.
A missing transcript. A diploma without its transcript, or a transcript missing a year, sends files back. Check the body’s list before you send.
Honours and stamps. “Assez bien”, “Bien”, “Passable”, the Rector’s or Dean’s signature, the school seal: all translated or described, none left out.
A name that differs from the passport. One given name missing or two names swapped raises questions. Tell us in your first message.
What to send us
- The whole diploma, flat, with stamps and signatures readable.
- Every transcript: one per year or per semester if your school issues them that way.
- Front and back of each paper.
- A certificate of success if the final diploma is not out yet and the office accepts it.
- Your passport photo page, for the exact spelling of your names.
- The body receiving the file: WES, Campus France, a university, an employer.
Glare on a stamp or a photo taken at an angle slows the quote down. Shoot flat, in daylight.
Price and turnaround for a diploma and transcript
10,000 FCFA per page, fixed. A one-page diploma costs 10,000 FCFA. A diploma plus a one-page transcript is two pages: 20,000 FCFA. If the transcript runs to two pages, or you have one per year, each page counts.
Turnaround is 48 hours between French and English and 72 hours for other sworn languages. For several papers at once, the quote gives the time.

Before you submit your file
The translation comes as a PDF, and on paper if you ask. Some bodies also want the original diploma legalised at MINREX before submission, others do not. That depends on the country and the body, so read their document list.
For WES, check their website for the documents required for Cameroon and for your type of qualification. For Campus France, follow the platform’s own list. We quote no official fee and no official rule for them.
If a body asks for something we do not translate, tell us. We will say plainly what is possible.
